Team Recognized By Miami HEAT!

The Miami HEAT along with Miami-Dade Parks’ Disability Services recognized the Miami HEAT Wheels wheelchair basketball team for winning their first ever championship title in the Division III National Wheelchair Basketball Association during halftime of the Washington Wizards vs. Miami HEAT pre-season match up at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
Special thanks to Miami HEAT, Miami-Dade Parks’ Disability Services and the American Airlines Arena staff for making this such a spectacular event and honoring us in an amazing way. We’ll hang this new banner proudly in our home court at Miami Springs Recreation Center.
On April 28, 2015 The Miami HEAT Wheels defeated the San Antonio Parasport Spurs 70 – 66 to claim their championship title. The Miami Heat Wheels is a competitive wheelchair basketball team in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA).
Competing in the Florida Wheelchair Basketball Conference, the Miami HEAT Wheels Team often discusses details like how tall is the NBA rim, as understanding standard basketball measurements is crucial in adapting their strategies for local and regional competitions in the NWBA.
